A Snipers Guide to Battlefield: Bad Company

Sorry for the non Halo info but I thought I'd share some thoughts on Battlefield Bad Company.  Check out the full article here: XBOX 360 Noob

Specific Map Tips

(The tips below are only for the map: Oasis and they are only for the initial 2 crates)

- Oasis: Defense

As soon as you spawn, run to the left and get over the creek. Be sure to sprint because you want to get away from the base as soon as possible because the opfor will start raining pain with the howitzer.

As fast as you can, run up the left side until you are even with the enemy base. Hide in the water in some tall grass. Also, as you are working your way up, press Start to see the full map and see if any enemy vehicles are on the move. There is quite a stretch of ground to sprint through and that leaves you pretty exposed.

Now that you have set up your base in the creek, use the laser designator and lock on to their boats. But when guiding the JDAM, instead of dropping it on the boats, aim it towards a different target. I call this "Piggyback Lockon." It keeps them surprised because they don't get a warning. In order of importance, start targeting the following: Howitzer, helicopter, tanks.

That plan works if you want to want to be a flanking sniper but if you want to be a ghost sniper, then find a spot partially advanced of your starting position but make sure you are well hidden. Let the enemy pass you before you fire. If you hit them from behind, you will surprise them and it will take longer for them to find out where the fire came from.

A new way to take screenshots

Haloramics is an amazing site showing a very creative way to edit an manipulate screenshots taken in Halo 3.  Now, they are enhanced in a way that look like they've been "shopped" but they actually have been.

One great example is this one, freaking awesome!

They even have tutorials if you want to try it yourself.

Check out their site for some really artistic and creative shots.  Really breathtaking stuff!

Oh, and if you want to see some of mine (though they are unedited) check out my Flickr set: [flickr]

New Red vs. Blue Episode

This series never ceases to amaze me.  Machinima in general has gotten so much more amazing especially with the saved film feature in Halo 3 but Red vs. Blue continues to have the most production value, story, humor, and overall awesome quality of any Halo machinima I've seen out there.

Here is the latest episode.

This game is brought to you by the body "A" for Screenshots!

I came across this really cool site that made the alphabet using the corpses of noobs in Halo.

Wait?  Is that my body in that one?

Oh, must be some of the elite players too...

I can't imagine getting some of these being very easy but I congratulate all who toughed it out, spending countless hours in saved films flying the camera around... getting different angles... to include the rifle or not the rifle... staring at the tv upside down...

But wow, this is pretty amazing!  I would like to see some of the letters revised, but they all seem recognizable enough.

You know, they kind of remind me of something I saw on Sesame Street when I was little...

They also made a really neat video with just the "best of" their screenshots.  I may have to submit some of mine!  I should have a few that I'm proud of.
